To all prospective readers, a heads-up: I wrote this prequel novella back in 2018, years before The Care of Broken Things and Perfect Zero. Which means, yes, this is yet another timeline. For fans of Nathaniel and Eli who want to see the first ever story they ever appeared in.
Nathaniel is twenty-two, broke, anxious, and already raising his little brother. He definitely doesn't have time for the four-year-old who grabs his hand at a crosswalk and won't say where her dad is until he buys her ice cream.
Her dad turns out to be Eli: a giant pediatrician sobbing in a YMCA lobby, and the most beautiful man Nathaniel has ever seen.
He’s also married.
Where the Light Turns Green is the sweet, chaotic, and deeply tender origin story of how a family of two became a family of three.
What you're in for

- How Nathaniel and Eli began
